Professor James Dalziel and Dr Pamela Harvey
Morling College is delighted to announce that Professor James Dalziel has accepted the role of Dean of Education, beginning in late March 2016. In this part-time role he will oversee the Morling Faculty of Education, its courses, faculty, and engagement with consortiums, schools, government agencies, and other groups. His professorial status has been recognised through the University of Divinity.
Professor Dalziel was previously Professor of Learning Technology and Director of the Macquarie E-Learning Centre Of Excellence (MELCOE) at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. He leads the LAMS (Learning Activity Management System) project, including roles as a Director of the LAMS Foundation and LAMS International Pty Ltd. Prior to his role at Macquarie, he was a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sydney. In recent years Professor Dalziel has been active in theological education in Australia, including as a member of the Academic Board of the Australian College of Theology.
Professor Dalziel is committed to continuing the strong Christian worldview focus of the Morling Education courses and working with Christian schools and Christian teachers. He also looks forward to strengthening the research focus of the Faculty of Education. He is the convenor of the Scholarly Christian Educators’ Gathering (SCEG) – a scholarly community of Christians that comes together to think deeply about Christian approaches to schooling across all discipline areas.
Dr Pamela Harvey will continue in the Morling Faculty of Education, as the Director of Programs. In that role she will provide oversight of the academic programs and curriculum development.
