Digital Content Creator

We have a bright and dynamic Marketing department that is looking for a Digital Content Creator to join their team. The key focus of the Digital Content Creator is to create content about the college and its community to be shared on social media, assist in creating content and copy for the website, e-mail workflows, e-mail marketing and social media ads. The role will also support the Marketing and Student Recruitment team’s main goal of increasing the number of new students applying to study at Morling every semester. This involves working closely with the Communications Officer to create content that is in line with the mission and values of the colleges and that will support social media marketing and leads generation campaigns.

This position is offered on a 1 year contract, part-time at 2 days a week (0.4FTE) with flexible working arrangements. Salary for this role is $62,057(pro-rata) based on General Staff Level 5.1 of the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award.

Responsibilities

  • Research industry related topics and market trends, identifying needs and recommend new topics of interest
  • Create relevant digital content on weekly basis for Morling social media platforms
  • Plan, develop and delivery of content in a variety of settings, including copy for website and landing pages, articles and blog posts, content offers, digital engagement campaigns, social media, e-mail Marketing, content to be distributed by partners, etc.
  • Collaborate with Communications Officer and Events Coordinator to promote internal events using a range of platforms
  • Use SEO guidelines to optimize content and identify partners for links exchange
  • Help the college to reach target audiences per faculty by delivering both useful and appealing online information about Morling using relevant platforms
  • Participation in the life of the College
  • It is expected that the Digital Content Creator will be part of the College community and will be involved in the life of the College across all campuses. This will include:
    Attendance at staff team meetings
    Attendance at chapel services
    Involvement in College events and lunchtimes with staff and students

Key Attributes

Qualifications and Experience

  • Formal qualification in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Experience in similar roles in Marketing
  • Experience with content management systems and social media platforms
  • Experience with Facebook and Instagram content creation, including aspect ratios, best practices, and consumption habits
  • Proven strong copywriting skills
  • Experience using drag-and-drop design software like Canva
  • Video editing skills: experience using Final Cut or Adobe Premiere, or comparative video editing software
