Master of Theology (UD)

Course Description

The Master of Theology (Research) is a higher degree by research in divinity, designed for individuals who bring a foundation in divinity. The purpose of the Master of Theology (Research) is to qualify individuals to apply an advanced body of knowledge in divinity in a range of contexts and to provide a pathway for possible further learning.

Course Duration

18 months full-time (up to 4 years part-time)

Course Structure

By major thesis, 40,000 words; By minor thesis, 25,000 words.

Entry Requirements

This course is open to those who have completed one of the following awards with a 75% average at the University of Divinity or an equivalent higher education provider:

  1. a Masters by coursework; or
  2. a Graduate Diploma; or
  3. a four year undergraduate degree with Honours.

Applicants must also satisfy the Research Committee that they have completed research methods and a research essay or thesis of at least 12,000 words.
