Cass started at Morling in 2007, and her focus area is on New Testament, Theology and Spiritual Formation for Plunge. Prior to working at Morling, Cass was a Youth and Young Adults Pastor.
Cass Kwakye lives in Sydney with her husband Solomon and sons Jedediah and Zion. Having completed her degree in archaeology she felt the call to ministry in a remote indigenous community in Darwin in 2001. Having completed training and her accreditation at Morling college she has pastored and taught in a number of different churches across the world including India, Africa, Norway and America. Currently she is enjoying her role as mum to two young adventurous boys, lecturing at Morling college and venturing into her doctorate. Her greatest passion is to see lives of young people transformed by the power of God’s word and building communities of faith.
How do you see the Morling values reflected in your role at Morling?
Cass is championing of ‘transformational discipleship’. At Plunge we see faith expand as people are equipped to comprehend and engage with God’s word in God’s world. The very nature of the Plunge program is to see faith put into action, to see theology integrated in practice and kingdom values reflected in the context of a living community of young people.

Matt will be joining Morling in December 2018. Prior to this he delivered the 2015 Tinsley Lecture and has been a visiting lecturer. Before joining Morling, Matt worked in pastoral ministry, the aid and development sector, church-based community development, community gardening, and refugee advocacy/activism with the organisation he co-founded, Love Makes a Way. He also serves as the Vice-President of the Anabaptist Association of Australia & New Zealand.
Matt is married to Ashlee, and they have three young children: Evie, Addison, and Charlie (the latter two are twins). They live on a small farm in Kanimbla called Milk & Honey Farm, two hours west of Sydney, where they're learning to live slowly, self-sufficiently, and sustainably. They recently joined the community at Blackheath Baptist Church. Matt enjoys playing various musical instruments, and is a devoted board gamer.
How do you see the Morling values reflected in your role at Morling?
Plunge is interesting as it sits at the intersection of theological education, ministry training, personal and spiritual formation, and cultural competency. But at the centre of it all is Jesus and the gospel he proclaimed. Our aim is to disciple young adults – those in the midst of a major life transition – that they would be transformed people who seek, in their lives and vocations, to faithfully and radically follow Jesus in their churches, communities, and world, announcing and embodying God’s kingdom here and now.
