GRADUATE CERTIFICATE OF DIVINITY

AN INTRODUCTION TO GRADUATE STUDY IN THEOLOGY

Graduate Certificate of Divinity

Course Description

The Graduate Certificate of Divinity introduces students, in a systematic manner, to the classical discipline of theology, as a means of both preparing men and women for communicating Christian knowledge and laying the foundation for advanced degrees in theology and ministry.

The Graduate Certificate of Divinity can be considered as one-half of the Graduate Diploma of Divinity, and can be completed by using the same pathways.

Entry Requirements

This course is open to those who have graduated with (at least) a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a non-theological discipline from an Australian university or other approved higher education provider, or who have successfully completed a course of study which is deemed equivalent.

Study Pathway

This course provides a smooth pathway from a 0.5 year course, to a one-year course, and then on to the Master of Divinity (should a student wish to articulate).

Career Options

The course provides foundational knowledge and skills appropriate to Christian ministry, but not to the depth required for leaders and teachers in congregations, for which vocations the Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Ministry, the Master of Ministry, and the Master of Divinity have been devised.

Credit Points

4 units (48 credit points) at AQF level 7 or above, with at least 2 units (24 credit points) at level 8 or above.

Course Duration

6 months minimum, 2 years maximum.

Study Modes

Units are available both on-campus and online.
