Meet Murray

Hello! I’m Murray, and I’m studying a Master of Divinity, full time, on-campus at the Macquarie Park campus in Sydney.

I had multiple friends and mentors who spoke very highly of their experience at Morling, so I thought it would be the best place for me. So far, my Church History lectures have been a real surprise. I’ve enjoyed learning about the early church and the way Christian Theology and Practice has developed over the centuries.

Morling has really helped me go deeper in my understanding and appreciation of the Bible, and broadened my perspective of what spiritual formation and worship can entail.

Aside from study, I’m currently the Pastoral Worker at The Centre in Dural. My role involves regularly preaching, helping the service run including the online streaming, getting people plugged into small groups and looking after the podcast. I love having the opportunity to preach on a regular basis and growing in both my faith and skillset through this ministry.

Partnering my study and ministry, and being able to engage in deeper theological discussion with both staff and students has been a real blessing. Getting the opportunity to nerd out on theology and connect with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are in a similar stage of life in their own ministry, makes you feel less alone by putting friendly faces and names to the wider Baptist Church.
